GoConverso vs. Square Appointments: same booking, a very different business

Square Appointments comes bundled with point-of-sale hardware, inventory and payroll. GoConverso comes bundled with WhatsApp, a CRM pipeline, your own site and email marketing. Neither one is the same product wearing a different logo.

GoConverso's Plus plan is $49/month ($490/year) and includes scheduling, WhatsApp, CRM, a client website and email marketing in the same account.

Feature by feature

Both GoConverso and Square Appointments include Online scheduling.

GoConverso includes WhatsApp as a channel (Open on every plan, including Free, and not a tier upsell.), and Square Appointments does not.

GoConverso includes Sales pipeline by deal stage, and Square Appointments does not.

Both GoConverso and Square Appointments include Email marketing.

Both GoConverso and Square Appointments include Your own site.

Both GoConverso and Square Appointments include Online store.

Square Appointments includes In-person point-of-sale hardware (Its own hardware line: Handheld, Terminal, Register, Stand, Kiosk, plus contactless/chip and magstripe readers.), and GoConverso does not.

Square Appointments includes Staff payroll (Runs from the same dashboard: "Pay employees from your dashboard, import timecards and tips, and process payroll faster," including tax filing and direct deposit.), and GoConverso does not.

GoConverso includes Zero platform commission on top of processing (0% in all four charging flows, a hardcoded constant, not a per-tenant setting. This is GoConverso's own cut; it doesn't include what Stripe itself charges the tenant for processing the card, which is separate and not ours to set.), and Square Appointments does not.

When Square Appointments is the right call

You run a physical shop, such as a salon, clinic or retail counter, and want the same system to ring up in-person sales, track inventory across locations and take appointments. Square's own hardware (Terminal, Register, Stand, handheld readers) does that in one box, and we don't sell hardware at all.

You need to pay hourly or salaried staff and want payroll running off the same dashboard that takes bookings. Square Payroll handles tax filing, timecards and direct deposit natively; we have no payroll product at all.

You're fine paying a real, published per-transaction fee (2.4%-3.5% plus a fixed cents amount, depending on plan and how the card is entered) in exchange for one vendor covering scheduling, point of sale, inventory and staff pay, instead of stitching those pieces together yourself.

Pricing, side by side

Square Appointments does not publish a monthly price for the Plus plan.

Square Appointments does not publish a monthly price for the Premium plan.

Questions people ask

Does GoConverso have a free plan like Square Appointments?
Yes, and unlike Square's Free plan, which requires a Plus or Premium subscription just to unlock email or text marketing, GoConverso's free tier already includes scheduling, WhatsApp and an email marketing quota. Current details are on the pricing page.
Does GoConverso send reminders over WhatsApp, or just SMS and email like Square?
WhatsApp is a native, two-way channel here, open on every plan, including free. Square Appointments' own reminders page advertises SMS and email only; there's no WhatsApp channel in its scheduling product.
Is GoConverso cheaper than Square Appointments?
It depends on what you're pricing. Square's own fees page publishes a real per-transaction processing charge, 2.4% to 3.5% plus a fixed cents amount depending on plan and how the card is entered, on top of its subscription. GoConverso doesn't add a platform commission to what your payment processor already charges. But scope isn't equal either: Square bundles point-of-sale hardware, inventory and payroll that we simply don't sell. Compare what you actually need on both pricing pages before deciding.
